Mapping the Self

This was my piece for the Senior Show at MassArt. Above are details of the 12' x 12' floor map upon which the viewer could walk (overhead view below). It is built up of layers of plywood, rising three feet off the floor at its highest point. The imagery on the background of the map is taken from that of old maps; this geometry specifically refers to compasses and the "four corners of the earth."
