NEW! Life Alive Counter Facade, Privacy Screen, Misc. Artworks, Salem, MA 2012. Scrap wood, plywood, fishing line.

Life Alive, an organic cafe and urban oasis, has opened its third location at 281 Essex Street in downtown Salem, MA. I created the artwork for the counter facade and used the scraps from that piece to construct a privacy screen at the back of the restaurant. Small wood pieces are suspended on fishing line and become more densely spaced towards the bottom, enclosing a seating alcove. The materials are leftovers from construction of the Cambridge Life Alive as well as a generous helping of salvaged pine from my friend Barbara Zeles. The 6' diameter Sri Yantra/logo, a corner waterfall of scraps, and a clock are among other pieces I made for this particular location.
